PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- A power-play goal from Mathieu Schneider 3:21 into overtime Friday gave the Montreal Canadiens a 4-3 victory over Philadelphia.

Scottie Upshall was sent to the penalty box for interference and it took the Canadiens exactly a minute to capitalize. Schneider rifled a shot from the right circle that sailed past the glove of Antero Niittymaki, who finished with 32 saves.

Montreal has won three in a row after dropping three straight. Alex Kovalev had a goal and two assists and Jaroslav Halak stopped 35 shots.

Philadelphia had won five out of six. The Flyers took an early 2-0 lead, surrendered three straight goals and then tied it on Simon Gagne's slapshot with 6:17 remaining in the second period.

Two of Montreal's three unanswered goals came 13 seconds apart from Tomas Plekanec and Tom Kostopoulos late in the first period.

The Flyers had eight power-play chances and did not score on any of them.
