SEATTLE, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Justin Dentmon and Venoy Overton teamed for five free throws in the last 24 seconds of overtime Thursday, and No. 21 Washington beat No. 11 Arizona State 73-70.

The 21st-ranked Huskies turned the ball over twice in the closing seconds of regulation and James Harden made a layup for No. 11 Arizona State with 14 seconds left to force the extra period.

After two free throws each from Dentmon and Overton gave Washington a five-point lead with 19 seconds to go, Derek Glasser hit a 3-pointer for the Sun Devils.

Dentmon was again fouled, but he could make only 1-of-2 free throws, giving Arizona a chance to force a second overtime. Ty Abbott, however, could not convert a 3-point try at the buzzer.

Washington (21-7, 12-4 Pac-10) leads Arizona State and UCLA by 1 ½ games in the race for the conference title. The Huskies can wrap up the title with wins over Arizona Saturday and Washington State March 7.

Jon Brockman scored 21 points to lead Washington. The Sun Devils (21-6, 10-5) were paced by Jeff Pendergraph with 24.
