Querrey surprise loser at Delray Beach

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Christophe Rochus surprised Sam Querrey Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.

Rochus ousted Querry 6-4, 6-1 to set up a quarterfinal meeting with Stefan Koubek, who pulled off an upset of his own by defeating eighth-seeded Yen-Hsun Lu 6-4, 6-3.

Qualifier Evgeny Korolev rallied to defeat Robert Kendrick 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez was a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 winner over Gilles Muller.

Korolev and Garcia-Lopez will face each other in the quarterfinals.

Top-seeded Mardy Fish will play a second-round match Thursday against Vincent Spadea. Fish was the last American winner of this tournament, having claimed the title in 2003.
