BOSTON, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Chuck Kobasew had two goals and Tim Thomas made 35 saves Thursday night, boosting the Boston Bruins to an ill-tempered 6-0 victory over Anaheim.

Thomas recorded his fourth shutout of the season in the Bruins' 42nd win of the season. That is one more than Boston had in all of last season.

With 5:01 left in the second period and the Bruins holding a 3-0 lead, Anaheim's Mike Brown and Boston's Milan Lucic became the focal points of a major brawl. Brown wound up with three penalties in the melee -- two minutes for instigating, five minutes for fighting and a 10-minute misconduct call.

Sheldon Brookbank was given a game misconduct as well in the incident. In all, there were 50 minutes of penalties handed out in the second period.

Boston took advantage during the latter stages of the second stanza to score twice on the power play.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere allowed three goals on eight shots before being replaced by Jonas Hiller, who surrendered three more on 19 shots for Anaheim.
