DENVER, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups scored Denver's final points with 1:57 to play Wednesday and the Nuggets barely held on to nip Atlanta 110-109.
Billups delivered 33 points and his two foul shots gave the Nuggets an eight-point advantage.
Atlanta then scored the game's last seven points on a 3-pointer by Joe Johnson, two free throws from Johnson and a jumper by Al Horford that brought the Hawks within one with 35 seconds to go.
After Billups missed a jumper with 10 seconds left, Flip Murray had a chance to win it for Atlanta at the buzzer. His shot, however, bounced off the front of the rim.
Carmelo Anthony had 23 points and 10 rebounds for Denver, which halted a three-game skid.
Marvin Williams led Atlanta with 31 points and Johnson had 26.
