Fish reaches quarterfinals in Florida

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- No. 1 seed Mardy Fish advanced to the quarterfinals of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships Thursday with a straight-sets victory.

Fish coasted past Vincent Spadea 6-4, 6-1 to set up a quarterfinal meeting with sixth-seeded Florent Serra.

Serra advanced with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win over Mischa Zverev.

In Thursday's other second-round matches, Jeremy Chardy got past Andrey Golubev 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 and Marcos Baghdatis defeated Dudi Sela 7-6 (9-7), 6-3. Chardy will meet Baghdatis in Friday's quarterfinals.

The other quarterfinal matches will send Guillermo Garcia-Lopez against Evgeny Korolev and Stefan Koubek against Christophe Rochus.
