COL BKB: Missouri 94, Kansas State 74

COLUMBIA, Mo., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- DeMarre Carroll led Missouri to a quick start Wednesday that sent the eighth-ranked Tigers coasting past Kansas State 94-74.

Missouri won its seventh straight and is unbeaten in 17 home games this season.

Carroll scored 21 points and had 14 rebounds, boosting Missouri to a 10-point lead midway through the first half. The Tigers closed the opening period on a 31-12 run over 6 1/2 minutes to take a 55-32 advantage at the intermission.

Laurence Bowers and Leo Lyons scored 16 each for the Tigers (24-4, 11-2 Big 12), who will visit rival Kansas Saturday.

Kansas State (19-9, 7-6) was paced by 33 points from Denis Clemente. The Wildcats lost for just the second time in 10 games.

The schools have met 229 times with Missouri holding a 115-114 lead in the series.
