Tommie Harris' wife dies

ATLANTA, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Rich Peverley scored the game-deciding goal and added an assist Tuesday, handing the Atlanta Thrashers a 4-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche.
Tobias Enstrom added a goal and an assist, and Ilya Kovalchuk and Marty Reasoner also scored for Atlanta. Kari Lehtonen made 30 saves in the win.
Milan Hejduk had two goals to lead the Avalanche. Chris Stewart also scored. Peter Budaj gave up four goals on 26 shots in the loss.
Twenty-three-year-old Colorado forward Paul Stastny, who missed the last 26 games with a fractured right forearm, played 24 minutes and had an assist.
