COL BKB: Providence 81, Pittsburgh 73

PROVIDENCE, R.I., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Weyinmi Efejuku led five Providence players in double figures with 16 points Tuesday to enable the Friars to beat top-ranked Pittsburgh 81-73.

Sharaud Curry had 15 points and Jonathan Kale added 13 for Providence (17-11, 9-7 Big East), which ended a two-game losing streak. Geoff McDermott had 11 points and Randall Hanke 10 for the Friars, who led by 18 points at halftime.

DeJuan Blair had 17 points and eight rebounds for Pitt (25-3, 12-3), which took over the No. 1 spot from Connecticut Monday, but committed 18 turnovers Tuesday.

Sam Young added 16 points and eight rebounds, and Ashton Gibbs 15 points for the Panthers had a seven-game win streak stopped.
