DUNEDIN, Fla., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells found out Monday he will be out of action a month with a strained left hamstring.

Wells left the team's spring training facility Monday after the injury and will have an MRI to determine the extent of the damage.

"Right now, I'd say he's going to miss four weeks," Blue Jays General Manager J.P. Ricciardi said.

Wells suffered several injuries last season, including a left hamstring injury, but still hit .300 with 20 home runs and 78 RBI in 108 games.

In 10 seasons in the majors, all with Toronto, he has a career .283 average with 177 home runs and 659 RBI in 1,078 games.
