DALLAS, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Patrick Kane's goal early in the second period Saturday lifted the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-1 victory over the Dallas Stars.
His 19th goal this season gave Chicago what would be an insurmountable 2-0 lead at 7:23 of the second.
James Wisniewski and Matt Walker also scored one goal each.
Netminder Cristobal Huet was credited with 30 saves on 31 shots for the much-improved Blackhawks, who recorded their first-ever sweep of the Dallas/Minnesota franchise, winning the season series 4-0. The last time Chicago went unbeaten against the Stars was in the 1995-96 season.
Overall, they have five of their last six contests.
Steve Ott's 12th goal this season at 11:31 of the third helped Dallas avert a shutout.
Goaltender Marty Turco yielded three goals on 36 shots for the Stars, who had won three of four.
