COL BKB: Connecticut 64, South Florida 50

HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Hasheem Thabeet had 21 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots Saturday to lead top-ranked Connecticut to a 64-50 win over South Florida.

A.J. Price added 11 points and Stanley Robinson 10 for the Huskies, who held South Florida to 32.3 percent shooting and 5-of-24 effort from 3-point range.

UConn (25-2, 13-2 Big East) rebounded from its loss to fourth-ranked Pittsburgh Monday with its seventh victory in as many games against South Florida.

The Huskies travel to take on 11th-ranked Marquette Wednesday, when their Coach Jim Calhoun will attempt to pick up career win No. 800.

Augustus Gilchrist led the Bulls (8-18, 3-11) with 15 points. Dominique Jones added 14 and Chris Howard had 11 points with eight rebounds and eight assists.
