CHICAGO, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- A suspect was in custody in Chicago for the killing of former Chicago Bulls player Eddy Curry's ex-girlfriend and her infant daughter, the woman's mother says.

Yolan Henry said Saturday she was informed by Chicago police that a suspect was arrested in the Jan. 24 killing of her daughter, Nova, and her 10-month-old granddaughter, Ava, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Henry identified the homicide suspect as a former boyfriend of her daughter, who was the mother of Curry's 3-year-old son.

"I always had a feeling it was him," Henry said of the suspect, whose name was not reported since he had yet to be charged. "He told me that was what he was going to do. I never thought he would."

The Tribune said Nova Henry, 24, was shot and killed in her Chicago townhouse last month along with her daughter. Curry's son, whose name was not reported, appears to have been in the townhouse at the time of the homicides, the Tribune said.
