ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Adrian Aucoin scored on a deflection with 1:10 left in overtime Thursday to bring the Calgary Flames a 3-2 victory over Minnesota.
Calgary bounced back from a shootout loss to Vancouver Tuesday to win for the third time in four games.
Aucoin, who hit the post on a breakaway earlier in the overtime period, put a soft shot on goal from the right point and it deflected off the skate of Minnesota defenseman Brent Burns. The puck trickled past goaltender Niklas Backstrom.
Rene Bourque and Dustin Boyd scored regulation goals for Calgary and Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 25-of-27 shots for his 34th win of the season.
Dan Fritsche and Colton Gillies scored goals and Niklas Backstrom let in three goals on 22 shots for Minnesota, which has lost three straight games.
Calgary defeated Minnesota for the eighth time in nine meetings.
