
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Tony Parker put San Antonio in front with a pair of free throws with 1:09 remaining Thursday and the Spurs held on to down Detroit 83-79.
Allen Iverson gave the Pistons their last lead of the game by making a layup with 1:22 to play and Detroit could not score another point.
Parker finished with 19 points and Tim Duncan had 18 points and 18 rebounds, helping the Spurs end a two-game skid.
Allen Iverson scored 31 for the Pistons, who have seen their losing streak reach five games.
After Parker's two foul shots gave San Antonio an 80-79 advantage, Detroit turned the ball over and suffered a missed shot by Rasheed Wallace.
Bruce Bowen increased the Spurs' lead to three by hitting two foul shots with 9 seconds left. Iverson then missed a 3-point attempt and Duncan made one foul shot to account for the final score.
Wallace scored 11 points, but needed 17 shots to do it. Detroit made only 2-of-13 attempts from 3-point range.
