HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- DeJuan Blair had 22 points and 23 rebounds Monday to lead fourth-ranked Pittsburgh to a 76-68 victory over top-ranked Connecticut.

Sam Young hit four 3-pointers while adding 25 points to help Pitt defeat a No. 1-ranked team for the first time in 14 attempts in school history.

Levance Fields had 10 points, all in the final three-plus minutes of the game, and his back-to-back 3-pointers broke a 61-61 tie. Pittsburgh (24-2, 11-2 Big East) has won six in a row.

A.J. Price led UConn with 18 points and eight assists and Jeff Adrien and Kemba Walker each had 13 points for the Huskies (24-2, 12-2), who held on to their No. 1 ranking for a third straight week earlier Monday but had a 13-game win streak broken a few hours later.

Huskies head coach Jim Calhoun failed to pick up career win No. 799. He ranks seventh all-time among Division I head coaches.
