
GLENDALE, Ariz., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- The Calgary Flames, led by Matthew Lombardi's two goals and one assist, skated to a wild 7-5 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes Saturday night.
Lombardi's seventh goal of the season was part of Calgary's four-goal second period, and his eighth came at 3:05 of the third.
Calgary's Adrian Aucoin, Daymond Langkow, Curtis Glencross and Eric Nystrom all scored once.
Todd Bertuzzi had four assists, David Moss and Michael Cammalleri two assists apiece, while Miikka Kiprusoff was credited with 32 saves on 37 shots for the Flames, who have won three of their last four contests.
Calgary led 5-2 when the third period started.
The Coyotes' Daniel Winnik scored his first two goals this season in the first (power play) and second periods. Viktor Tikhonov scored twice in the third, once on the power play.
Shane Doan scored at 5:17 of the third, while Ilya Bryzgalov was beaten seven times on 42 shots for the struggling Coyotes, who have lost eight of nine.
