COL BKB: Boston College 80, Duke 74

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Tyrese Rice scored 21 points with six assists and six rebounds Sunday when Boston College rallied to record an 80-74 upset of fifth-ranked Duke.

After a 37-32 halftime deficit, BC went ahead on Rice's 3-pointer with 1:13 left to completed a comeback and take a 74-72 advantage. Rice and Joe Trapani both sank two free throws in the closing seconds to secure the victory.

Trapani scored 20 with seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Reggie Jackson scored 15 with five rebounds and three assists, while Rakim Sanders added 14 with five rebounds for the Eagles (19-8, 7-5 ACC), who stopped their two-game skid.

The win was their second recently against a top-five opponent. They won beat North Carolina 85-78 Jan. 4 when the Tar Heels were No. 1.

Kyle Singler led Duke with 25 points and eight rebounds. Gerald Henderson scored 20 with four rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Lance Thomas added 12 points and five rebounds for the Blue Devils (20-5, 7-4), losers in three of their last four outings.
