LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Robert Nilsson scored in the second round of a shootout Saturday, lifting the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
LA's Dustin Brown's 21st goal this season sent the contest into extra time with just 26 seconds left in the third period.
Edmonton won the shootout, 2-0, with Sam Gagner also scoring.
In regulation, the Oilers' Dustin Penner led the way with a goal and an assist. Shawn Horcoff's 14th goal (power play) gave Edmonton a 2-0 lead at 13:11 of the first period.
Dwayne Roloson made 39 saves on 41 shots for the Oilers, who had lost four of their previous six games.
Drew Doughty's fourth goal (power play) helped LA close to 2-1 at 6:29 of the second period.
Jon Quick was credited with 19 saves on just 21 shots for the Kings.
