Ex-NHL agent Frost acquitted of fraud

KINGSTON, Ontario, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Former NHL player agent and junior hockey coach David Frost has been acquitted of fraud and bail violations by a court in Kingston, Ontario.

The verdict in Ontario Court of Justice Friday was the second time in three months Frost has been found not guilty of charges brought against him. Last November, he was acquitted of sexual exploitation charges.

In the case decided Friday, Frost had been accused of fraudulently using a credit card belonging to former St. Louis Blues forward Mike Danton at a Kingston gas station in 2007, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Saturday. Danton is serving a prison term in the United States in connection with an alleged failed plot to kill Frost.

Frost's lawyer, John McMunagle, submitted in evidence a letter from Danton saying Frost and his wife had power of attorney over his finances, The Kingston Whig Standard reported.

Justice Rommel Masse ruled he "found no evidence of fraud or that Frost intended to mislead" the gas station operator about his identity, the CBC said.
