CHICAGO, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Chicago Bulls General Manager John Paxson is set to resign and be replaced by Assistant General Manager Gar Foreman, sources told the New York Post.
Paxson is expected to leave the NBA franchise when the league's trade deadline passes Thursday, a Post report said Friday.
The Post said the Bulls are considering a trade for shooting guard Larry Hughes in an attempt to bring in a marquee NBA name, such as Amare Stoudemire or Jermaine O'Neal.
Foreman would serve as general manager for at least the rest of this season, the Post report said.
Former Bulls Coach Doug Collins was mentioned as a possible successor as general manager. Collins was also tabbed as a potential replacement next season for Vinny Del Negro, the Bulls head coach.
The Bulls are 23-30 going into the NBA all-star weekend.
