SUNRISE, Fla., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Richard Zednik scored the only shootout goal in the fourth round Friday night, giving the Florida Panthers a 2-1 decision over the New York Rangers.

Tomas Vokoun won a tremendous goaltending duel with Henrik Lundqvist, bringing the Panthers their third straight victory and their seventh in nine games. Florida has recorded a 12-3-3 record since Jan. 1.

New York lost for the sixth time in seven games despite a 42-save performance by Lundqvist.

The Rangers' Fredrik Sjostrom scored with 2:46 to play in the opening period and Florida's Michael Frolik tied it 2:37 into the second.

Vokoun kept Florida alive in the shootout by making a sprawling save against Ryan Callahan in the third round. Zednik then scored with a wrist shot between Lundqvist's pads and Vokoun blocked a backhanded try by Nikolai Zherdev to end the game.
