DALLAS, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Marty Turco made 32 saves and was credited with an assist Friday night in leading the Dallas Stars to a 2-1 decision over Vancouver.

Vancouver failed in its bid for a season-best five-game winning streak. The Canucks' four consecutive victories had come after they had dropped eight in a row.

Dallas won for the eighth time in 10 games and leapfrogged Vancouver by a point in the tight race for Western Conference playoff spots. Eleven teams are in contention for the conference's final four post-season berths.

Taylor Pyatt gave Vancouver the lead 5:28 into the game, but Dallas rallied on second-period goals from Loui Eriksson and Joel Lundqvist. It was the first goal of the season for Lundqvist, who has spent much of the campaign on the injured list.

Turco started the play that led to the winning goal by firing an outlet pass to Eriksson, who then got the puck to Lundqvist.

Jason LaBarbera stopped 28-of-30 shots.
