PARIS, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland and Frenchwoman Alize Cornet were first-round winners Tuesday in the Open GDF Suez tennis tournament in Paris.
Radwanska, seeded No. 4, rolled over Oxana Lyubtsova, a Ukrainian qualifier, 6-1, 6-1.
The fifth-seeded Cornet also posted a decisive victory, defeating Latvian qualifier Anastasija Sevastova 6-1, 6-3.
Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia, a qualifier, turned back Ekaterina Makarova of Russia 6-2, 6-2, and Emilie Loit of France, another qualifier, eliminated Czech Nicole Vaidisova 6-1, 6-4.
Other winners included Alisa Klebanova of Russia, Nathalie Dechy of France, Monica Niculescu of Romania and Croatian Karolina Sprem.
The tournament's top seed, world No. 1 Serena Williams of the United States, plays her first-round match Wednesday against Czech Iveta Benesova.
