Edmonton's Visnovsky out for season

EDMONTON, Alberta, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Edmonton defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky will have surgery on his injured right shoulder and miss the rest of the season, the Oilers announced Tuesday.

Visnovsky, an NHL player since 2000, was hurt in a 3-1 loss to Chicago Feb. 3.

The 32-year-old Visnovsky played in 50 games for the Oilers this season, collecting eight goals and 23 assists.

Visnovsky, who played for the Los Angeles Kings before joining the Edmonton club last year, has 78 goals and 232 assists in his career.
