NHL: Philadelphia 3, Atlanta 2

ATLANTA, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Jeff Carter scored twice and added an assist Sunday for Philadelphia, which extended its win streak over Atlanta to 14 games with a 3-2 victory.

Joffrey Lupul notched the other goal for Philadelphia and Scott Hartnell contributed two assists.

Antero Niittymaki blocked 29 shots and improved his career record against Atlanta to 13

Ilya Kovalchuk and Vyacheslav Kozlov posted power-play goals for Atlanta.

Thrashers goalie Johan Hedberg was credited with 20 saves.
