NHL: Ottawa 3, Buffalo 2 (SO)

OTTAWA, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Mike Fisher's goal in the fourth-round of a shootout Saturday night lifted the Ottawa Senators to a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Buffalo's Drew Stafford scored his 15th goal this season (power play) to create a 2-2 deadlock at 7:25 of the third period.

There was no scoring in the overtime, but Fisher later scored the game-winner.

Buffalo's Derek Roy had a chance to continue the contest, but his shot sailed over the net to clinch Ottawa's victory.

Nick Foligno and Antoine Vermette scored in regulation, while Brian Elliott was credited with 28 saves on 30 shots for the Senators, who snapped their four-game losing streak.

Adam Mair scored Buffalo's other goal at 1:06 of the third period.

Ryan Miller surrendered two goals on 42 shots for the Sabres, who had won two in a row.

Ottawa leads the season series, 2-1-0.
