NBA: New Orleans 101, Minnesota 97

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A dunk by Sean Marks and two free throws by Peja Stojakovic in the final 8 seconds Sunday enabled New Orleans to pull out a 101-97 win over Minnesota.

Marks' score broke a tie with 7.9 seconds to play, Stojakovic dropped in the free throws about 4 seconds later and the Hornets hung on for the win.

Rasual Butler scored 23 points and Marks had 18, the highest total of his NBA career, for the Hornets.

Minnesota's Al Jefferson totaled 25 points and pulled down 14 rebounds before leaving with a knee injury late in the game. Ryan Gomes had 21 points for the Timberwolves, who have lost six of their last seven games.
