MIAMI, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Dwyane Wade had a team-high 22 points Sunday and hit a key jump shot late in the game to lead the Miami Heat to a 96-92 victory against the Charlotte Bobcats.
The shot gave Miami what turned out to be an insurmountable 93-85 advantage with 1:27 left in the fourth period.
The Heat led 69-61 after three periods held on despite being outscored 31-27 in the final stanza.
Mario Chalmers recorded his first career double-double with 16 points and 13 assists. Daequan Cook, back from a three-game absence because of a bruised thigh, also scored 16 points, while Udonis Haslem added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Heat -- whose seven steals, eight blocked shots and 56 percent shooting helped them stop a slide of four losses in their previous five outings.
D.J. Augustin led Charlotte with 27 points with six assists. Juwan Howard scored 14 points with three rebounds and three assists, while both Emeka Okafor and Boris Diaw scored 10 points in the Bobcats' fifth straight loss.
