BOSTON, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Randy Jones' goal with 2 minutes left in overtime Saturday lifted Philadelphia to a 4-3 victory against Boston.
On the game-winner, Jones' shot from the point was going wide right, but the puck caromed off the shin pad of Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference at the side of the net, then sailed past stunned Boston netminder Manny Fernandez.
The third period went scoreless after Scott Hartnell's 20th (power play) created a 3-3 tie at 6:25 of the second.
Philadelphia's Simon Gagne, Glen Metropolit and Scott Hartnell also scored.
Jeff Carter had two assists.
Starting goaltender Martin Biron gave up three goals on 15 shots, but backup Antero Niittymaki stopped all 22 shots he faced for the Flyers, who broke a two-game skid.
Boston scored all of its points in the first period on goals by Marc Savard, Byron Bitz and Chuck Kobasew.
Coming back from a back injury, Fernandez yielded four goals on 30 shots in his first start since Jan. 8.
