
ATLANTA, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Al Thornton scored a game-high 31points Saturday when the LA Clippers trounced the Atlanta Hawks, 121-97, avenging a 97-80 loss in Los Angeles Jan. 14.
LA gradually expanded a 27-17 lead after the first period, and it grew to 100-74 lead with 9:15 left to play. The lead never dropped below 20 points in the late stages.
Zach Randolph scored 25 with nine rebounds. Marcus Camby had 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Baron Davis scored 13 with eight assists and Eric Gordon added 11 points and three assists for the Clippers, who are just 2-7 in their last nine games.
Marvin Williams and Joe Johnson led Atlanta with 17 points apiece. Josh Smith recorded his 12th double-double this season with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Zaza Pachulia had 12 points and four rebounds, while Maurice Evans added 10 points for the Hawks, whose two-game winning streak ended.
The Clippers out-shot the Hawks 57 percent to 45 percent.
