
ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Dan Ellis made 22 saves Friday night in recording his third shutout of the season, bringing the Nashville Predators a 2-0 victory over Minnesota.
Ellis, in his second season with the Predators, played in his 76th NHL game and ran his career shutout total to nine.
Nashville won for the fifth time in six games, getting goals from Jason Arnott and David Legwand.
The game was more than halfway through when Arnott scored his 19th goal of the season, taking a quick pass from J.P. Dumont and putting a one-timer past Niklas Backstrom. Legwand's goal came 62 seconds deep into the third period.
Ellis made 12 saves in the final period to secure the victory.
Minnesota was shut out for the fourth time this season and for the second time by Nashville.
