NHL: Dallas 10, N.Y. Rangers 2

DALLAS, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Mike Ribeiro led an offensive onslaught with two goals and two assists Friday night and Dallas scored six third-period goals to crush the New York Rangers 10-2.

The Stars had not scored 10 times in a game since 1992, when the club was still in Minnesota. The Rangers had not given up 10 goals since 1993.

James Neal also scored twice, helping Dallas win for the sixth time in seven games. Marty Turco made 20 saves to get the victory.

Steve Valiquette, making just his 10th appearance of the season, surrendered all 10 goals on 39 shots.

The six-goal third period featured three scores in a span of 70 seconds.

The Rangers were trailing by only one goal in the second period and had 1:45 of a 5-on-3 chance. New York, however, managed only one shot on net during that stretch.

New York lost its fourth straight.
