Tommie Harris' wife dies

DENVER, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Cody McLeod scored the tiebreaking goal with 7:11 to play Thursday, giving Colorado a 3-2 victory over Dallas and ending the Stars' five-game winning streak.
The Dallas streak had been the longest active one in the NHL, but McLeod halted it by putting a wrist shot past Marty Turco.
Colorado took a 2-1 lead 42 seconds into the third period on Marek Svatos' power-play goal, but Loui Eriksson tied it with his 25th goal of the season. He beat Peter Budaj with 11:58 remaining in the period.
Budaj stopped 22-of-24 shots to bring the Avalanche their second straight win on the heels of a four-game losing streak.
Turco let in three goals on 21 shots.
