Cilic, Ancic reach Zagreb semifinals

ZAGREB, Croatia, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Croatians Marin Cilic and Mario Ancic reached the semifinals Friday at the Zagreb Indoors, the first European event on the 2009 ATP Tour.

Cilic, seeded second, defeated Antonio Veic 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) to run his match record this season to 11-1. Cilic's only loss came at the Australian Open.

Ancic coasted past Ivan Dodig 6-1, 6-3. Cilic will meet Viktor Troicki in the semifinals and Ancic will take on Jan Hernych.

Hernych had a 5-4 lead over Mischa Zverev in the first set when Zverev retired. Troicki was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Sergiy Stakhovsky, who was playing in the quarterfinals of a tour event for the first time since winning in Zagreb last year.
