PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Samuel Dalembert had season highs with 18 points and 20 rebounds Thursday, lifting the Philadelphia 76ers to a 99-94 victory over Indiana.
Dalembert's dunk with 1:15 to play gave the 76ers a five-point lead and Philadelphia held on for the victory on a night the team received bad news concerning star forward Elton Brand.
It was announced prior to the game that Brand has decided to have season-ending shoulder surgery.
Philadelphia was able to bounce back from its last-second loss to Boston Tuesday and evened its record at 2-2 on its seven-game homestand.
Willie Green added 23 points and Andre Iguodala had 20 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.
Indiana, which lost its third straight overall and seventh straight on the road, was led by 21 points from Mike Dunleavy.
