Ferrer, Baghdatis advance in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- David Ferrer and Marcos Baghdatis recorded straight-sets victories Wednesday in the second round of the rain-delayed South African Tennis Open.

Play began five hours late because of the showers, after which the second-seeded Ferrer rolled past Simon Greul 6-3, 6-4. Baghdatis, seeded eighth, was a 6-3, 7-5 victor over Raven Klaasen. Ferrer and Baghdatis will meet in the quarterfinals on Friday.
