NBA: Portland 97, New Orleans 89

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and 11 rebounds Monday, powering the Portland Trail Blazers to a 97-89 victory over the New Orleans Hornets.

Jerryd Bayless added 19 points, Travis Outlaw 16 and Rudy Fernandez 15 for the Trail Blazers, who posted their fifth straight win.

David West had 25 points and eight rebounds for the Hornets, while Peja Stojakovic had 18 points. Chris Paul had 12 points and 13 assists before leaving the game late in the third quarter with a right groin strain.

Portland outscored New Orleans 42-17 after Paul left to hand New Orleans its third straight loss.
