COL BKB: Connecticut 68, Louisville 51

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Hasheem Thabeet had 14 points and 11 rebounds Monday, keying top-ranked Connecticut's 68-51 victory over seventh-ranked Louisville.

Both teams went into Monday's match on nine-game winning streaks. But Connecticut (21-1, 10-1 Big East) limited Louisville to 34.4 percent shooting. Jeff Adrien had 18 points and seven rebounds, and Jerome Dyson 14 points for the Huskies.

Terrence Williams had 26 points for Louisville to outscore all his teammates combined. The Cardinals (17-4, 8-1) suffered their first conference loss and first one overall since a one-point loss to UNLV on Dec. 31.

Earl Clark and Samardo Samuels, who went into the game averaging a combined 26.6 points, combined for only five points.
