TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh wide receiver Santonio Holmes was the MVP in Super Bowl XLIII after his jaw-dropping touchdown catch helped the Steelers beat Arizona 27-23.

Holmes grabbed a pass from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on tip toes with just 35 seconds remaining, capping a nine-reception, 131-yard performance.

"My feet never left the ground," he told reporters. "All I did was extend my arms and use my toes as an extra extension to catch up to the ball."

"Santonio Holmes really made a name for himself," Steelers receiver Hines Ward, the MVP of Super Bowl XL, told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Holmes also caught a 40-yard Roethlisberger pass during Pittsburgh's 78-yard game-winning drive, which went to the Arizona 6-yard line and set up his memorable game-winning score.

His heroics victory made Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin, 37, the youngest coach ever to win a title in the NFL's annual title game.
