NHL: St. Louis 4, Philadelphia 0

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Chris Mason's third shutout this season led the St. Louis Blues' surprising 4-0 win Saturday night over the high-scoring Philadelphia Flyers.

In all, Mason stopped the 36 shots he faced.

The Flyers had a full two-minute, two-man advantage less than 2 minutes into the game, but were unable to get any quality shots on net.

Later, St. Louis got one goal apiece from Jay McClement, Carlo Colaiacovo, David Backes (power play), and Patrik Berglund (power play).

Brad Boyes and T.J. Oshie both had two assists for the Blues, who have won three of their last four games, but maintained last place in the NHL Central Division.

Netminder Antero Niittymaki surrendered the four goals on 35 shots for the Flyers, who had won three of four.

The last time they were shutout in St. Louis was Dec. 20, 1969.
