EDMONTON, Alberta, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- J.P. Dumont and Martin Erat scored for Nashville and the Predators hung on behind goalie Pekka Rinne Sunday to edge the Edmonton Oilers 2-1.

Dumont fired a shot past Oilers' goalie Dwayne Roloson for the game's first score with 7:56 remaining in the second period and Erat made it 2-0 with a backhand shot in the third.

Edmonton's Ales Hemsky connected on a slapshot about a minute after Erat's score, but Rinne, who finished with 32 saves, preserved the one-goal advantage and the victory.

Roloson blocked 27 shots.

Edmonton had won four of its previous five games.
