PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Dante Cunningham scored 12 of his 21 points in the second half Sunday, leading No. 21 Villanova to a 71-50 Big East Conference win over Cincinnati.
His output helped the Wildcats sprint away from a surprisingly slim 30-29 halftime lead, and led to the 25th straight victory at the Pavilion, their on-campus home court.
Corey Fisher and Scottie Reynolds, the other Villanova players in double figures, scored 11 points apiece, while Cunningham added eight rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals for the Wildcats (17-4, 5-3), who shot 51 percent from the floor in their third straight victory.
They have won four of their last five contests.
Alvin Mitchell scored 15 points, but was the lone player in double figures for the Bearcats (14-8, 4-5), whose two-game winning streak ended.
Yancey Gates added nine points with seven rebounds, while both Deonta Vaughn and Dion Dixon scored eight points.
