NHL: Montreal 4, Los Angeles 3

MONTREAL, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Third period goals Saturday from Christopher Higgins and Saku Koivu helped the Montreal Canadiens rally to beat the Los Angeles Kings, 4-3.

Montreal trailed, 3-2, after the second period when Higgins' sixth goal this season at 18:07 of the third created a 3-3 tie.

About 90 second later, and with 23 seconds remaining, Koivu's eighth (power play) ended the Canadiens' four-game losing streak.

Montreal goalie Carey Price made 29 saves on 32 shots.

LA's Dustin Brown and Jarret Stoll both had a goal and an assist.

Michael Handzus also scored once, Kyle Calder had two assists, while netminder Jonathan Quick surrendered four goals on 26 shots for the Kings, whose three-game winning streak ended.

Los Angeles has not beaten the Canadiens since a 2-1 win at home on March 8, 2003 and is 1-11 with one tie in its last 13 visits to Montreal.
