COL BKB: Connecticut 94, Providence 61

STORRS, Conn., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Hasheem Thabeet's triple-double Saturday powered second-ranked Connecticut's 94-61 rout of Providence.

Thabeet finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

A.J. Price added 19 points for the Huskies (20-1, 9-1 Big East), who won their ninth straight game. Stanley Robinson had 18 points and Jeff Adrien 14 points and six rebounds for Connecticut, which scored 56 second-half points.

Randall Hanke scored 16 points for the Friars (14-7, 6-3), who had a three- game win streak end. Sharaud Curry had 10 assists in defeat.
