Steelers' practice in rain

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers held their second full Super Bowl practice session in the rain Thursday and Coach Mike Tomlin said he was pleased with their precision.

"We're getting a great look from our scout teams, and we have all year,'' Tomlin said. "I can't say enough about the quality of work we're getting from (backup quarterback) Byron Leftwich, who has been fantastic all season imitating the other quarterback. He's giving our defense a good look at how Kurt Warner plays. We had adversity today (but) things very rarely go smoothly for 60 minutes in a game."

Tomlin brushed off a report that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger underwent back X-rays this week.

Roethlisberger, 26, was speared in the rib/back area during the AFC Championship Game Jan. 18 against Baltimore.

"Not that I heard,'' was Tomlin's response when asked about Roethlisberger's X-rays.

Pittsburgh is a seven-point favorite for Sunday's Super Bowl XLIII at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium.
