BOSTON, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Jamie Langenbrunner scored his second goal of the game 1:11 into overtime Thursday night, giving the New Jersey Devils a 4-3 victory over Boston.

The Devils won their seventh straight and moved three points in front of the idle New York Rangers at the top of the Atlantic Division.

Colin White tried to win it in overtime with a blast from the left point and the puck bounced off goaltender Tim Thomas and two other players before landing on Langenbrunner's stick. He spun around to get a look at the goal and fired the winning shot under an out-of-position Thomas.

Langenbrunner's first goal of the game came shorthanded and gave the Devils a 1-0 lead after the opening period.

New Jersey managed a victory after letting a two-goal lead slip away in the third period. Boston took a 3-2 lead with 6:30 to play on Dennis Wideman's slapshot, but Patrik Elias tied it with 1:45 left by tipping in a shot.

Scott Clemmensen made 24 saves to get the win and Thomas stopped 26 shots.

Boston lost for the third time in five games.
