BOSTON, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- David Krejci scored 1:55 into overtime Tuesday, delivering the Boston Bruins a 3-2 victory over the Washington Capitals.

Krejci held the puck at the top of the left circle and attempted to pass it to Marc Savard waiting on the opposite side. However, the puck bounced off a Capital defender's leg, changed direction and slid into the net.

Shawn Thornton and Savard scored for the Bruins, who have won four of their last six games. Tim Thomas stopped 34 shots to improve his record to 21-5-4.

Mike Green and Michael Nylander scored for the Capitals. Washington goalie Jose Theodore stopped 25 shots.
