COL BKB: Marquette 71, Notre Dame 64

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Jerel McNeal scored 27 points Monday to lead the eighth-ranked Marquette Golden Eagles to a 71-64 win over No. 22 Notre Dame.

Wesley Matthews added 16 points and Dominic James had 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Marquette (18-2, 7-0 Big East), which has won 10 straight games.

Luke Harangody had 29 points and 17 rebounds for Notre Dame (12-7, 3-5), which has lost two straight at home following a 45-game home court winning streak. The streak ended with Saturday's loss to second-ranked Connecticut.

Tory Jackson had 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the losing Fighting Irish.
