CLEVELAND, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- George Kokonis has been named general manager of the Cleveland Browns, the team announced Sunday.

Kokonis has been in the Baltimore Ravens' front office for 13 years, the last six as director of pro personnel.

"Cleveland is a football town and I look forward to working alongside Eric Mangini (the head coach) and the rest of the organization," Kokonis said.

Kokonis replaces Phil Savage, who was fired.

The Browns were 4-12 for the 2008 season.
